Questions
Which DJ software does Liaison work with?
Serato DJ, Traktor Pro and VirtualDJ are read automatically on Mac and Windows, no hardware needed. rekordbox is read automatically with a CDJ, an XDJ or a DJM on the network (Pro DJ Link). On Mac, rekordbox with a plain USB controller is detected too. On Windows in that case, the playing track has to be set by hand.
Are my audio files sent anywhere?
No. All the analysis — tempo, key, energy, timbre, structure — runs on the DJ's machine. No audio file, no library and no title ever leaves the computer.
Does Liaison change my rekordbox or Serato library?
Never. Liaison reads your DJ software's database and writes nothing to it. Exports (playlists, tracklists) are separate files you import yourself if you want to.
How much does Liaison cost?
The night pass costs €4.95 and covers 48 hours, no subscription. Resident: €14.95 a month or €134 a year. Collective: €44.95 a month or €404 a year. The full trial lasts seven days, no card.
What are mix points?
Three moments computed from the structure of both tracks: when to drop the next one, when to swap the bass from one deck to the other, and when to leave the current track. They are given in minutes and seconds on the playing track.
Do I need an internet connection during a gig?
No. Liaison works offline. The licence is checked on activation, then cached for thirty days, so you can play in a basement with no signal.
